Veracruz Mujer Alerta: A Mobile App to Assist Women in Veracruz
Veracruz Mujer Alerta is a mobile application developed by the Government of the State of Veracruz in coordination with the Secretaría de Seguridad Pública. It is aimed at providing assistance and advice to all women in Veracruz based on the current Declaration of Gender Violence Alert. The app has three main features: identifying types and modalities of violence against women, locating places where women can seek advice and report these acts in their municipality, and a button to generate an alert when in a situation of violence. The app is linked to the Centro Estatal de Control, Comando, Comunicaciones y Cómputo (C4), which will process the support of alerts issued in a timely and efficient manner. The use of this app requires mobile data connection and geolocation. Veracruz Mujer Alerta is a significant step towards a life free of gender violence.
